In the Sugarhill Brighton Studio With Hannah, Customer Service Manager

Published on

At Sugarhill Brighton, we’ve always believed that what makes our brand truly special isn’t just the colourful prints or the feel-good designs — it’s the people who dream them up, sketch them out, and bring them to life. Behind every joyful jumper, playful print and perfectly cut dress is a small but mighty team of creative minds, each adding their own spark to what we do.

With our new blog series, In the Sugarhill Brighton Studio With…, we want to shine a light on the brilliant bunch who work their magic behind the scenes. From design and production to marketing, customer care and everything in between, this is your chance to meet the humans who make Sugarhill Brighton… well, Sugarhill Brighton.

Each post will introduce you to a different member of the team — sharing their stories, inspirations, favourite pieces, and maybe even a few surprises along the way.

So, pop the kettle on and join us as we pull back the curtain, celebrate our people, and show you the heart behind the brand. We can’t wait for you to meet them!

- VANDER QUILTED WAISTCOAT- BLACK/ TEAL, TWILIGHT GINGHAM- this is great to just throw over when the weather is uncertain. It can go with anything but just a baggy pair of jeans and plain top, it will jazz the whole outfit up.

Can you tell me about your role at Sugarhill Brighton? What does your typical day look like?

Can you tell me about your role at Sugarhill Brighton? What does your typical day look like?

As the Studio Manager of Sugarhill Brighton, I am responsible for the day to day running of the in-house design studio. Each day can be quite different, whether it is assisting with fittings and sample management with the production team, or helping the design team with research and CAD work. I also assist with both in-house and location photoshoots which appear across our website, social media and catalogues.

As customer service manager I am responsible for all things customer queries so I do lots of emailing and answering the phone as well as other jobs.

How would you describe your style? Are you influenced by anyone?

Hmmm, I've always struggled finding my personal style. I've had phases of only wearing monochrome and obsessed with slick minimalism and then when I moved to brighton, I started wearing more colours and patterns - but I do know that I love cute things and most days I'll be seen wearing something with Hello kitty or Miffy on it. I was always inspired by my mum's fashion sense growing up and I would say my current influencer is @alrstockwell or brands like Lazy oaf.

What's your favourite thing to do right now? Hobby? TV? Book?

I love junk journaling. It's such a low effort way to feel like I am still being creative. This year I challenged myself to read 1 book a month because I don't read enough some of my Favourite reads so far is "what you are looking for is in the library" and "The song of Achilles"

If money didn't matter, where would you travel to?

I've just come back from Japan and honestly I already want to go back there are so many places left to visit. But would you also love to visit South Korea.

Tell us a fun fact?

Not sure if this is a fun fact but I used to collect stamps as a child and now this has now spiralled to collecting a lot of cute stationery.

Annika Turtleneck Jersey Top - Green/Multi, Flower Explosion

This with black jeans and an oversized black denim jacket is i think is such a easy but sophisticated look - this also looks good with the kacy tunic

Kacy Tunic Dress - Black Cord

This with an oversize collar! Do I need to say more!

Remi Popper Fleece - Olive, Retro Daisy

The design is so cute AND cosy, perfect for a quick trip to get coffee or a walk to the beach.

Asher Jumper - Multi, Abstract Landscape

This is the warmest jumper! Perfect for cold days with a pair of jeans and boots.

Tasha Mini Dress - Multi, Toadstool Floral

I think the print is so fun and easy to just to throw and can layer long sleeve tee and boots and leggings/tights in the winter.
