Autumn-Winter 2025 Inspiration Trend - Art Class

Published on

This season, creativity gets messy—in the best possible way

Our Art Class trend is a celebration of expressive mark-making, naïve doodles and raw individuality. Inspired by studio spaces splattered with paint, sketchbooks filled with spontaneous ideas and the joyful imperfection of handmade art, this story champions self-expression over perfection.

This season, our design team has been inspired by the energy of creativity in motion. While other trends explore nostalgic florals, desert textures or retro palettes, Art Class steps into a world of expressive design—where fashion becomes a form of personal storytelling.

For Autumn–Winter 2025, Art Class is one of the five key mood stories shaping the collection. Defined by free mark-making, bold hand-drawn motifs and playful print layering, this trend draws influence from the rise of modern craft, studio culture and handmade revival movements seen across art, design and interiors.

This story embraces some of the strongest creative themes of the season:

  • #MarkMaking – raw brush strokes and expressive scribbles add energy and movement

  • #ArtisanEdge – prints begin as original artworks, retaining their handcrafted texture

  • #CreativeChaos – doodles and abstract shapes bring joyful spontaneity

  • #MixedMedia – influences from painting, sketching and collage merge in layered prints

  • #NeoCraft – a modern craft revival brings emotional value to design

  • #KidultEnergy – a playful spirit appears in naïve drawing styles and spontaneous symbols

In Art Class, experimentation leads. Prints feel alive with personality, from doodle checkerboards and scribbled stars to hidden leopard patternwork and abstract collage forms. These are not flat, repeated graphic prints—they are expressive artworks reimagined for clothing.

The colour palette leans into rich jewel tones and saturated brights softened by inky blacks, giving the youthful spirit of the trend a refined and wearable finish. Fabrics like textured twill and cosy fleece ground the creativity in tactility and comfort, while versatile silhouettes make this trend easy to wear from day to night.

Art Class isn’t just about what you wear—it’s about mood, attitude and confidence in originality. It brings together emotion, mark-making and artistic energy to create a collection that feels personal and fearless.

Autumn-Winter Print Mood

At the heart of Art Class is a celebration of handmade energy. The prints in this story reject digital perfection in favour of authentic artistic expression—you can feel the movement of the wrist, see the gesture of a brush, trace the rhythm of a doodle. Each motif carries an emotional mark, as if lifted from the pages of a creative sketchbook.

These prints are bold but not aggressive, expressive but not chaotic. It leans into a purposeful spontaneity—every line serves a mood. Painterly textures add dimension, while layered composition gives prints a crafted sophistication. Nothing feels flat. Nothing feels overworked. Instead, these designs are intuitively built, celebrating raw, instinctive creativity.

PRINT DIRECTION

The Art Class collection brings together a curated mix of hand-drawn prints that feel instinctive, expressive and alive with movement. Each design has been crafted with an intentionally imperfect, artistic feel—echoing brush strokes, chalk dust, ink bleeds and spontaneous doodles that bring personality to every piece.

This story champions print variety with a studio-made authenticity. Rather than repeating patterns, each design feels like an entry from an artist’s sketchbook—full of texture, energy and creative dialogue. The handwriting is modern but playful, bold yet accessible, with layered shapes and mark-making that give every print a tactile, crafted edge.

Here are the signature prints that define the Art Class mood:

  • Black / Green Doodle Checkerboard

  • Black / Multi Doodle Checkerboard

  • Petrol Navy Hidden Leopard

  • Green Layered Spot

  • Black Colourful Shapes

Together, these prints form a cohesive visual language, connected through expressive mark-making, playful spontaneity and a celebration of the human hand in design. Whether layered together or worn individually, they bring a creative voice to autumn wardrobes.

The expressive cousin of the original doodle checkerboard. Electric pops of pale pink, teal and amber add a punch of personality, creating a confident print that feels both retro and progressive.

Petrol Navy Hidden Leopard

An abstract rework of animal print through an artistic lens. Painterly leopard spots reveal subtle feline faces hidden within the composition—an imaginative twist for pattern lovers.

Green Layered Spot

Organic spots overlap like layered paint, shifting in shape and density for a sense of motion. This hand-built print bridges statement and subtlety—easy to wear but artistically rich.

Black Colourful Shapes

COLOUR + MATERIALS

The Art Class palette is rooted in creativity and confidence. Inspired by studio spaces at dusk—where bold pigments glow against inky shadows—this story brings rich, mood-driven colour to winter dressing.

We explore a refined spectrum of jewel tones: emerald, sapphire, garnet, teal and magenta, deepened with midnight navy and charcoal black to add sophistication. These tones feel artistic yet wearable—refined but never reserved. Pops of vivid coral, chalk pink and acid green interrupt the darkness with energy, echoing the unexpected sparks of inspiration found in a burst of creativity.

Unlike playful primary brights, this palette leans grown-up and atmospheric. Duskier undertones give the story a modern edge, ensuring that the naïve elements never feel juvenile. Colour is layered with purpose—thoughtfully placed to balance expression with elegance.

Fabrication plays a key role in bringing Art Class to life. Texture adds depth, tactility and movement, echoing the layered surfaces of paint and mixed media artwork.

HOW TO WEAR

Everyday Expression - For those easing into print, pair doodle checkerboard tops with denim or layered spot blouses with clean black tailoring. The grounded colour palette keeps looks refined, while subtle mark-making adds personality without overpowering.

The Studio Layer - Mix prints like an artist mixes paint— thoughtfully but instinctively. Try clashing micro and macro pattern scales for balance: pair the compact doodle prints with oversized collage shapes to create a layered yet harmonious print story.

Off-Duty Creativiuty - Lean into the casual craft energy of the collection. Brushed fleece sweats and twill wide-leg trousers feel like elevated studio wear—comfortable and modern. Add chunky boots or trainers for an effortless street-style look.

Statement Dressing - For expressive days, go all in. Sleek dresses in hidden leopard or black colourful shapes bring directional edge, especially when styled with clean, sculptural accessories. These prints stand alone—just let them speak.

Art Class isn’t about following rules—it’s about finding your rhythm. Layer boldly. Clash playfully. Dress creatively. Make it your own.

A FINAL NOTE

Art Class is more than a trend—it’s a celebration of creativity as a way of life. It reminds us that expression doesn’t have to be polished to be powerful. Whether it’s a spontaneous scribble or a carefully layered composition, every mark tells a story. This collection is an invitation to dress with personality, to embrace the joy of making, and to wear pieces that feel as unique as you are.

This season, don’t stay inside the lines. Draw your own.
