Autumn Team Outfit Picks

Published on

The leaves are turning, the knitwear is out and the Sugarhill team have officially entered cosy season. Here's what we're all wearing this autumn.

Autumn is our favourite time to get dressed. It's layering season, jumper season, and the season where a really good pair of socks becomes a legitimate talking point. Whether it's a blustery walk along the seafront, a Sunday pub lunch or just the daily dash to work, the team have pulled together their go-to looks from the new collection. Spoiler: there's a lot of knitwear, a surprising number of animals, and not a single beige outfit in sight.

Kat's Pick: Carrots, Denim & A Very Frilly Tote

Kat has gone full harvest festival and we've never been more charmed. Her bubblegum pink jumper is covered in rows of little orange carrots, knitted in a playful criss-cross layout that's equal parts sweet and slightly silly, in the best way.

She's balanced all that pink with a dark denim mini skirt, complete with big patch pockets and a scalloped hem that adds a flash of fun with every step. The finishing touch? A rainbow stripe tote with a frilled trim, because one joyful print is never enough for Kat.

"It's a vegetable jumper. Of course I'm wearing it."

Becci's Pick: Woodland Embroidery & Midnight Florals

Becci's look feels like a walk through the woods at dusk, and honestly, it's magical. Her black cardigan looks simple from a distance, until you spot the embroidery on the cuffs: a leaping fawn, a delicate green fern and a scattering of tiny flowers. It's the kind of detail you'll catch yourself admiring all day.

Underneath, a black ditsy floral mini skirt dotted with orange and white blooms keeps the mood dark and pretty. And when the temperature drops, she's adding a burgundy knitted vest with red tipping and a little tiger patch for an extra layer of warmth and personality.

"The cuffs are my favourite part. I just keep looking at them."

Cat's Pick: A Fawn, A Tiger & A Statement Jacket

Cat is serving peak autumn and we're all slightly obsessed. Her rich rust jumper features the sweetest fawn wearing a pink bow, a knit that's nostalgic, cosy and impossible not to smile at. She's paired it with relaxed mid-blue denim jeans for an easy, everyday shape.

Then comes the jacket. A black quilted style covered in a bold floral print with prowling big cats tucked among the blooms, it's the kind of piece that instantly makes any outfit look considered. Teal tiger socks peek out for a little hidden colour pop, and the burgundy SHB tote carries everything else.

"It's cosy, it's cute, and the jacket does all the heavy lifting."

Carla's Pick: Wavy Stripes & Leopard Fleece

Carla is bringing the colour, as always. Her red and pink wavy stripe jumper is pure feel-good energy, the kind of knit that makes grey October mornings feel a whole lot brighter. Black denim jeans keep the base simple and let the jumper do the talking.

For outdoor adventures, she's throwing on a leopard print fleece with bright orange zip trim: snuggly, practical and full of attitude. Cream socks with rainbow stripe cuffs and little stars add a cheeky finishing touch, and a hot pink SHB tote ties the whole look together.

"Leopard is a neutral. I will not be taking questions."

Natalie's Pick: Forest Green, Pinstripes & A Leopard Collar

Natalie's look is cool, considered and quietly brilliant. Her deep forest green jumper is finished with bright pink contrast lines tracing the neckline, shoulders and sleeves, a small detail that completely transforms a classic knit.

She's paired it with relaxed wide-leg trousers in a brown pinstripe with a drawstring waist and a woven SHB patch, which feel smart but are secretly as comfortable as joggers. On top, a black utility jacket with a leopard print collar adds a polished, slightly rock-and-roll edge.

"Comfy trousers that look this smart? Game changer."

Lucy's Pick: Bold Blocks & A Sparkly Bomber

Lucy has gone for maximum impact and it's working beautifully. Her bright orange roll neck is knitted with a graphic block pattern in pink, red and chocolate brown that builds towards the hem, giving the whole thing a brilliantly retro feel. It's bold, it's warm and it's guaranteed to get compliments.

She's kept the rest sleek with black denim jeans and a black sparkly knitted bomber with a gold zip, finished with a red embroidered rose. It's the perfect layer for taking a daytime look out for drinks, and it adds just the right amount of shimmer as the evenings draw in.

"Orange in autumn just makes sense. Add sparkle and it's done."

Olivia's Pick: Country Hens & A Berry Midi

Olivia's pick is giving countryside escape in the loveliest way. Her cream cardigan features a proud hen front and centre, framed by folk-inspired borders in pink, orange and brown, with wooden-look buttons for a homespun finish. It's the cosiest kind of statement knit.

She's layered it over a deep berry jersey midi dress with a gathered skirt and a sweet floral patch at the hem. It's a soft, easy outfit that works for a farm shop trip, a long lunch or a day at your desk, and it'll carry you right through to winter.

"It's basically a hug in cardigan form."

Emma's Pick: Leopards After Dark

While everyone else goes bright, Emma goes moody, and the result is effortlessly chic. Her black knitted jumper dress is sleek and simple through the body, with blue leopard print sleeves that add an unexpected twist. It's a one-and-done outfit that looks like you've made a real effort.

To layer, she's chosen a black zip-up knitted bomber with cream leopards strolling across it. Wear it together for a full animal print moment, or style the bomber over jeans on more casual days. Either way, Emma has proved that dark doesn't have to mean dull.

"Two leopard prints in one outfit? Absolutely."
